Profile / Biography
Warren Buffet was born, in Omaha Nebraska on August 1930 from Howard and Leila Buffet and was the middle child. His father was a broker and a congressional representative. Warren learned how to make a profit at the age of six by selling coca cola to his friends.
When he was 11, he bought his first stock at $38 a share and sold his three shares of Cities Services for $40 each. Later on, the shares went to $200. He learned from his mistake how to be patient and how to invest on durable and reputable companies.
Warren went from high school to college and Harvard turned him down for his master degree. He married Suzie Thompson in 1952 and had three children.
Warren studied for his graduate degree under Ben Graham, a renowned investor. Warren worked with Ben for many years, until their approach to investing became completely different. Warren left Ben, went back to Omaha and bought his house there.
He created a limited partnership with seven people in 1956 with $105,000. In 1962, his partnership was worth 7 million. He combined all the partnerships and funded Buffett Partnerships Ltd. In 1968, his partnership was worth $104 million.
Throughout the years, he bought many companies including Berkshire Hathaway, GEICO and See’s Candies. In 1999, a share in his company cost $80,000. Susan died in 2004 and warren married his lifetime companion Astrid Menks at 76 years old. Warren current net worth is 42 billion and just donated 85% of his assets to charity.
